Department: Commercial Property Team
Location: Huntingdon
Salary: £negotiable.
Description
We have always been fortunate to have a consistent and high quality caseload and have, particularly over the last year, seen an expansion of work coming into the team. For that reason, we are looking to build our commercial property team and strengthen further our offering.
You may be currently situated in a 'top' law firm and looking for a better work/life balance whilst retaining the complex and challenging calibre of work that you are used to. Our client base and the reputation we have built is such that the type of work we handle sees us often opposite Legal100 firms dealing with high-value, complex and interesting work; ranging from acquisitions and disposals of new multi-million pound development sites (both commercial and residential) to acting for occupiers either in relocating offices or large distribution/warehouse centres (with pretty much everything in between).
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, friendly and supportive team that is carving out a name for itself both in the regional and national arena.
The candidate for this role will enjoy dealing with a variety of complex and challenging work types and will have the following background experience:
Key Skills & Experience
Qualified lawyer with excellent experience gained in a highly regarded Legal 500 practice
Achieve billing, time and fee earning targets set and co-operate with the firm’s credit control arrangements
Proven project and time management skills
A confident and professional manner
Work effectively within a team but also as a leader
Be professional, organised, competent, enthusiastic and ambitious.
Be able to work independently and as part of a team with other fee earners, providing advice and assistance whenever needed to develop knowledge and skills within the rest of the team.
Good experience in the following practice areas is a requisite:
Commercial leases/occupiers (grants/surrenders/assignments/ LTA 54 renewals);
Grant of easements;
Freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals
Options and overage; and
Property finance (e.g. debentures/charges)
conditional sale agreements
site assembly
ransom strips
options
sub-station leases
collaboration/JV agreements
promotion agreements
Acting for landowners in respect of sales to developers (experience of developers requirements)
Ancillary knowledge of planning law/construction process.
The ideal candidate would also have either good or some working experience in the following areas:
Agricultural work including:
Agricultural law
Farm Business Tenancies/Occupational agreements
Estate management
Entitlements

Job Title: Legal Secretary / Personal Assistant – Litigation
Salary: £23,000 - £26,000 FTE
Location: Huntingdon, UK
Job Type: Full-time or part-time, minimum 4 days per week, Monday to FridayWe are seeking an experienced and skilled Legal Secretary/PA with a strong background in litigation to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organisational abilities, a keen attention to detail, and a proven track record in supporting legal professionals in a busy, high-standard environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated administrative and PA support to the Litigation Team
Ensure efficient file compliance, document production, and comprehensive file organisation
Produce high-quality court bundles and other essential legal documents
Maintain a high standard of accuracy in typing and document preparation
Understand and apply the appropriate style and format of statements of case
Perform audiotyping tasks
Operate within a case management system to organize and monitor case progress.
About you:
Minimum of 5 years specific and recent experience in litigation support
High level proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience in producing bundles and organising legal documentation
Excellent attention to detail and exceptional typing accuracy
Proficiency in using case management systems
Experience of working in a Lexcel-accredited firm is desirable
