Lee Bailham

About me

Lee is a Member (Partner) of Leeds Day LLP and a Solicitor, practising exclusively in the field of family law having joined the firm in 2015. He is based at the Huntingdon office.

About my work

Lee can call on over 30 years experience working in the legal office, having initially undertaken civil litigation and contentious probate work for several years, before specialising in family work about 20 years ago.

He is a qualified Resolution Accredited advisor in Complex Financial Cases (1 & 2), involving divorce or separation, although his work embraces all family law work, including parental disputes concerning children, domestic violence cases and asset protection advice, in the form of pre and post nuptial agreements as well as cohabitation agreements. Lee also chooses to represent his clients in court to provide the most comprehensive of representation.

In 2012, Lee qualified as a Family Law Mediator and, though now non-practising, gained substantial experience, and a new perspective, in this role, as a dispute resolution intermediary, conducting numerous mediation cases with married and unmarried, separating, couples.

Lee appreciates the traumatic and emotive nature of family work and always adopts a sensitive approach to what are very often life changing situations for his clients. He believes the key to meeting his client’s needs is meticulous preparation, an attention to detail and regular communication, ensuring he manages his clients’ expectations so that they understand the relevant law and procedure to provide a realistic forecast of the likely outcome.

Past family law cases undertaken by Lee have included:

  • High Net Worth disputes involving complex agricultural property and trust arrangements;

  • Divorces with significant pension assets;

  • Extra jurisdictional disputes over family property situated overseas, outside the EU;

  • Complex and intractable parental disputes concerning child arrangements;

  • Hague Convention cases involving the unlawful abduction of children from overseas jurisdictions;

  • Protracted Domestic Violence cases.
